Any good suggestions on sites to buy tires online? I guess I'm going with the Michelin's again if the right size is still available. They kept me upright for 13,000 miles and wore nice and even but there is only 3/32nd left on the front and 2/32nd on the rear. I thought I would replace the rear way before the front but that's not going to be the case. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

I've had pretty good luck with Southwest Moto Tires (swmototires.com, I think). They used to ship free if you bought a pair. _________________ 85 K100/1100RS, 321,000 miles, 25 years

I've always found tireexpress.com to have the best prices and the service is fast. I just bought a set of Pilot Roads for my Honda for $254 delivered. Three days to my door though I've had them show up in two before.
I just checked south west mototire. $11 cheaper than tire express as long as I bought two! Like Frank said, if you buy two the shipping is free. First time that's happened. _________________ Paul - '93 K11/12RS (sold), 2002 R1100S BCP and '03 RC51 KOG 29 |

Anybody else? swmoto doesn't stock the tires I want but I emailed them to see if they could get them. Tireexpress has them but if I can get the free shipping....
Anybody have an opinion on this product?

Thanks guys, I went with Tires Unlimited. $90.76 for the front Pilot Activ and $122.65 for the rear Macadam. $26.32 shipping. After rereading Michelin's web site I came up with a theory on why my front and rear wore out at the same mileage. The Activ on the front, according to Michelin, wears 20 percent longer than the Macadam. Too bad they don't make a 140/80/17 Activ especially since they are replacing the Macadam line with the Activ. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

Well, if they're replacing the Macadam line with the Active, they're not getting it done very fast! I need a new rear - probably followed closely by a new front. They still don't have a Pilot Activ rear for the LT.
After looking around a bit, Tireexpress has the best prices for the Michelin LT tires. _________________ Jim

www.motorcycleproshop.com seems the cheepest I found, and shipping I think is only $9 per tire. I've never ordered from here, but after comparing several different tires it seems like this is where I'll get my tires from.

While investigating the Pilot Activ I came across one on eBay that claims to be a Rhinotire treated tire. After checking out the Rhino Tire process and watching the video I'm not sure what to think. Anyone have experience with Rhino treatment? |
