Hey everyone. Thanks for all the help and advice over the years. Unfortunately Big Red, my 1993 K1100rs, went to sleep for a couple years with bad rear brakes and a dead battery. Today I overhauled the rear brakes, added some fresh gas, and put in a new battery. She turns over. And over. And over. No fuel pump whine, no spark, no nothing. That precious $120 battery is about kaput. I tried for a minute or two and then realized I had the kickstand down and I never shorted out that damn "feature" when I should have. So...ideas? Almost certain the fuel pump's gone south. And there was a bit of gas in it during the storage; dunno if it's enough to hose the pump or foul up the injectors. Thanks. - PZ

So I drained the battery, made it to O'Reilly just before they closed for a trickle charger (couldn't find mine), and hooked it up. Gave it a shot last night before going to bed, and wouldn't you know it she fired right up. Lots of stuttering and white smoke. After a few minutes I took her for a run down to the creek and back. Good ol' Big Red. Early 80s all day so I might head up to Yosemite to break her back in. - PZ

Yep BTDT. My '97 sat for 6 years(long story). I put a battery and fresh gas on it and it fired right up. I was impressed to say the least.
