I've just installed a rebuild kit on my front brake after experiencing substantial leaking. Now, my throttle is sticking. I'm assuming some DOT 4 got into the assembly. Is this a typical response to a leaky brake? Is there a photo guide to troubleshooting a sticky throttle? Thanks. - Blake _________________ Blake

I had a leaky front master on my 94 RS. It did not cause a sticky throttle. This occurred something like ten years ago and the throttle still works just fine.
You may have already checked these but it is possible that either end of the grip rubber is causing the throttle to stick.
If you moved the grip rubber on the throttle tube at then it's possible that the inside end of it is now rubbing against the side of the throttle perch. The solution is to nudge the grip rubber out a little on the tube.
It's also possible the the outer end of the throttle tube or the grip rubber is rubbing against the bar end. Easy to tell if that's the issue. Just remove the bar end to see if that helps. If it's that then just loosen the bolt that clamps the throttle perch to the handlebar and move the perch in a few mm before retightening it. (That bolt doesn't need to be he-man tight, just tight enough to hold the perch in place.) _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Thanks again Duck. It was full of gunk and cleaned up nicely. Now's it back to its old self. - Blake _________________ Blake
