I'm storing my bikes off premises this year. No electricity in storage so, I need to pull the battery and bring it home for the battery tender. My BMW shop manual has about 5 steps and seems to be for the LT not the RS. Since it is buried in the frame and I don't want to remove any more than is absolutely necessary a few tips would be appreciated. Is there a write up on doing this somewhere?

From the looks of your picture, you must have a 'low seat' modification?
The battery in the RS is in the same location as the LT, under the motronic controller..... so what ever you have to remove to get there.

Looks like your seat latching mechanism has to come off,
the Motronic has to be unplugged and removed, (one screw)
the Motronic mounting tray needs removed, (2 longgg phillips head screws)

this should get you to your battery.

You could try undoing the Motronic first and removing it and seeing if the battery can come out that way. maybe undoing the bolts holding that reservoir so you can move it a little out of the way?
