New to me '93 K1100 LT
I have one valve out of spec and an oil leak from the timing chain cover.
I have not done the valve adjustment before and feeling a little apprehensive.
I will zip tie the chain to the sprocket before I remove it from the cam shaft
I do not have the special tool to hold down the cam chain tensioner and intended to try "Duck's" screwdriver trick, but if I am going to take off the timing chain cover to address the oil leak I thought I would remove it at the same time as the valve cover and tie the tensioner down with a zip tie.
Does anyone see any problems with this plan ???? _________________ MIKE

Sounds like it should work. What ever means you need to prevent the tension spring assy from pressing upward on the chain. _________________ Ride safe.

Have a look at my post about the high mileage and fuel consumption post very close to this one where I describe how to fix the oil leak.
(high mile K1100LT terrible fuel mileage and more) _________________ 1997 K1100LT
