Had to do a brake job on a Suzuki Burgman I inherited.
He decided at 82 to quit biking.
Core discovery in research - don't use copper grease on back of pads.
It can cause ABS issues apparently.
Any grease should be high temperature and silicone seems to be the one
which won't attack rubber components. _________________ 1994 K1100 LTSE + Blackbird |

I use Disc Brake Quiet on the back of pads.

I cannot see how this will cause ABS Problems! The grease does not come anywhere near the sensor or 'teeth' of the rotor so after a couple of brake applications, assuming the pads are already bedded in they will not lie anyway else but flat on the pistons.
Whilst I have disabled the ABS on my K1100LT because of a 'brain' fault, The abs on my previous 2 x R1100RT's treated to copper based grease never ever gave a problem. _________________ 1997 K1100LT

The only chemical reaction/interaction I can think of could be with the piston seals.
Still can't see how that would affect ABS, but it could affect physical braking if the seals start to swell and cause the pistons to stick/bind.
On most automotive applications there is a rubber boot to protect the piston seals, our bikes don't have a protective boot. _________________ Ride safe.
