Sitting around the camp fire at HM X we had a good time hearing John telling stories of his dive shaft disaster, and how as the shaft angle changes the speed changes. I know some of you after several adult beverages thought this impossible but I found a video that shows how it happens.
The moral of the story is to adjust suspension to keep the shaft as straight as possible.
With the failures of many nearing 100k miles, I think the solution is to ride bikes with 25k miles on them!

But the paralever keeps the final drive parallel to the output at the transmission which the video shows will keep things at the same speed.
Although the video does show the importance of having the U-joints in phase. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Interesting. But then the shortened "silver rod" (as BMW calls the "reaction arm" below the swingarm) on the sport suspension Boxer Cup ignores that.
