Good morning Guys...
Geeeezzz Scott... whats up, you just gotta get better asap !! None of us had any idea that you had been laid low.... PLEASE keep us posted so we can do whatever it is that needs to be done !
RE: "Stoked up Steve"... well sure, I have admit I was worried. All of us know that when you spend any time on two wheels out there amongst the unwitting cagers that ANYTHING can happen, and frequently does ! Its just a risk we all take. Therefore I was relieved to get a PM from Steve, who explained that last year after HM10 he was to celebrate their 25th Wedding Anniversary, PLUS Birthdays..BUT had to postpone owing to business pressures. Therefore this is the year to do just that ! He and wife will be relaxing on a sunny Costa Rican beach or exploring a rain forest, or just plain doing whatever celebrating marrieds do on their 25th !
For our part, at HM-11, whilst enjoying the campfire, we should toast our friends Steve and Frau and wish them all the best in achieving yet a second 25 together ! What say ye ????
Best regards all.... Ride Safe.... // Ernie in NH (slowly warming) _________________ AMA,, American Deaf Bikers

I'm hoping to be released Wednesday, Thursday at the latest. I had to have my mitral valve replaced in my heart, they were unable to repair it. Now the recovery starts. I got out of icu this morning now they just need to get my inr stable(Coumadin levels). I did get an artificial valve, not an animal one. _________________ Ride safe.

Hey Sean, we will try to behave for Mrs. Rydor.
Nah- who am I kidding. Business as usual.
Seriously, it will be good to see everyone. _________________ John & Cathy

Put those side bags on, throw a few things in them, and come on!!!
I'm not ready either. Trying to sort a few things on the LT. Haven't ridden it in about 3 years - except for a short trip to the inspection station... Could be interesting... will definitely get some contact cleaner in that side stand switch - along with some of the critical connections. The cigarette lighter works.
Looking forward to seeing everyone! Marion weather is looking good at this point. _________________ Jim

Started my vacation week plus on Thursday pm- spending 3-1/2 days away with SWMBO in our alternate get-away mode of relaxation. She really likes it and ya' know the old saying- "if mama ain't happy, Nobody is happy"
(picture at home the day before we left)
Home by Sunday afternoon. Few things to do on Monday- then a leisurely 1-1/2 day ride down to HM.
Good to hear about the weather Jim. Better than the frog strangler I got caught in a few years ago. _________________ John & Cathy

Thanks for asking Sean. Unfortunately Cathy’s vacation was last week (she is an Occupational Therapist working in the school system with special education kids) and cannot take the next week off. Nuts, eh? _________________ John & Cathy

Hello guys...
Man I have been anxious to get on the bike and go...weather has been worse that "shitty", wife drove me home from PA over Hog Back Mtn (VT) last night in the snow,,, BUT the bike is ready, and I thought I was ready until a farm accident injured my left eye. MEANING= no rides for me until maybe mid June or July.
Looks like I'll miss out since I have an Opthomologist appt in Boston on the 2cd., and cannot drive or ride with one eye anyway... I was really looking forward to meeting the "new and improved" Rydor, as well as the whole adventure of doing "non Highway" on a smaller lighter bike. However Im sure my contribution of "Campfire BS" will not suffer in a years absence.
Hoping friend Steve and Frau in Costa Rica are having the time of their lives, hoping also that Scott is "full throttle" in the recovery mode, hoping that Jim's LT makes it without problems,, and that everyone will enjoy a great HM-11 with exceptional weather...!
See you all next year..../ Ernie in NH
Lets see..... HM-12,,approx 365 days and counting down ! _________________ AMA,, American Deaf Bikers

I'm glad nobody told me you can't ride with one eye. I got a bee that stung me in my helmet once and my right eye was swollen shut for a couple of days of riding. It was really swollen too. When I paid for a tire install at the Duc dealership in Santa Rosa later that day the guy behind the counter told me that I should go see a doctor. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Hi Duck....
Bit more than a bee sting Duck.... When youve got a 2" piece of hardened fence post imbeded in the socket of your eye, and blood filling the cavity, I didnt think it best to just "tough it out". The 2" #10 wire staples we use to secure livestock fencing are driven into the posts using a butane powered staple gun, and the explosive force of the staple entering a fault in the wood simply blew out an oversized splinter point blank into my face as I was looking away. (for safety)... Sorry to be such a 'softie' but its hard to focus the other eye and I have no depth perception as yet... 'spose I could ride though eh?
Best regards.....Ride Safe all.....// Ernie in NH _________________ AMA,, American Deaf Bikers

You've never seen my reaction to bee stings.
Damn, your incident sounds pretty brutal. Best wishes for a speedy and full recovery. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
