I mounted a Garmin up on the glare shield, left side up where the 2 dummy switches are on my LT. I drilled a hole in one of the spare switch covers to run the power out of, which I tapped into the map light power.
Look on eBay, I found the mounting ball, which came with industrial double sided sticky tape. Been on there two years, no problems. They also makes one that screws on with 4 screws. _________________ 2014 R1200RT Water Cooled

Hey Dug,
On my RS I took the two Philips head screws out of the top of the fairing (not the large slotted deflector screws) and using longer screws attached an aluminum bar from one to the other.
I have a Garmin GPS attached to the left side and a cell phone holder on the right. It has been a sturdy location for years. Easy to fabricate one yourself.
I could post pictures later on today if it would help.

Thanks. It is a very solid place to mount the electronics.
The Garmin GPS (left side) and cellular phone running "Waze" (right side) were invaluable on the 6 day/ 6000 mile trip I did in September. _________________ John & Cathy
