I am trying to replace my clutch cable and can't figure out how to get the lower end of the cable through the hole where it goes. The boot doesn't want to go in from the top and I can't feed it in through the bottom ( so that the boot ends up in the right place. What am I doing wrong? It can't be that hard. But it seems to be. |

Lube it up with some ArmorAll or whatever. Pinch it and push it through the big hole from the top. Only a little will go through but there should be enough to grab the end of it from below with some needlenose pliers and gently pull/wiggle the rest of it through. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Thanks, works like a charm. I got all of my LEDs installed and it looks great. there seems to be a slight glow of the oil pressure light though. Any ideas? |

Keep adding oil until it stops glowing dimly. (That's a joke. DO NOT do this.)
LEDs only require a very small amount of current to illuminate compared to a filament bulb so sometimes a tiny current which won't light up a filament will cause an LED to glow.
I've never experienced this an any of my bikes though.
It MAY be that your original oil pressure switch is "leaking" a tiny bit of current which makes the LED glow. Replacing the oil pressure switch MIGHT resolve this.
Another solution would be to put a small resistor in the wire that comes up from the oil pressure switch but since I've never had this issue I've never tried that.
If it really bothers you at night then it might be best just to put the original filament bulb back in for that one bulb.
Hope that helps. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Sorry for late reply- just back from three weeks.
I have the led kit, and one of my abs lights glows slightly as well. I dont worry enought to do anything about it.
The oil pressure light glows when it's raining. Thats when the sensor gets wet enought to allow a current to flow between the positive contact and the earth/engine. A liberal covering of diaelectric grease solved that.
Is it possible that there is a bit/ a lot of gunk under the oil pressure switch/rubber boot that is causing the leakage? _________________ '08 K1200GT
