Hello guys
After I got dried out from yesterday's attempt to head south, I started off again today about 10;30 a. M..... Got all the way to Keene (nh) before getting dumped on again, but the real story of today is the wicked west wind that at times nearly separated me from the bike
Hoping the remainder of the ride (all I-81 with late arrival) will be significantly less windy. All other Wednesday riders, please Ride Safe...we DON'T wanna loose any Hungry Mothers now....! See you then......

Ernie, you're RIDING down? Holy crap! You are the man!
Seriously, that's amazing. I guarantee you can have a lower bunk no matter what.
Very much looking forward to seeing everyone and please travel safely!
I-81 sucks, I avoid it if I can, but you really can't. Tango with the trucks. _________________ Steve

WTF is it with this weather? Just had the pleasure of 2-1/2 hours of heavy rain on a 3 hour ride heading south.......at about 45 degrees.
But in a motel in Bennington Vt and drying out now.
Hoping for an early start in the a.m.
See you all tomorrow afternoon. _________________ John & Cathy

Had 70+ and sunshine in Nixa Mo. today visiting some friends...
Heading for lunch tomorrow with Sean, then to points east.
Should be in, albeit after sunset I'm sure, but we will be there tomorrow night. _________________ Ride safe.

HMX was great - Chuck's culinary expertise is awesome. Great to see everyone! Those who couldn't make it - we missed you. Hope you can make it to K11 at HM11.

A great trip and visit with everyone!
Made it home by 2:00 today, clear and cold/cool weather but it was nice...until I encountered the idiot drivers here in Hampton Roads on the last 45 minutes or so...Jesus there must be something in the water!
Many thanks to Chuck for providing some great meals...Everyone for the great company, stories and general camaraderie.
Audi, that was one hell of a long day to get a tank bag, you better be using that SOB!
Cheers! _________________ Steve

OK....OK. My ride (I mean drive) was 14 hours but in and out of lots of rain as I headed north. Wet snow mixed with rain in the eastern Pennsylvania hills.
Maybe it wasn't so bad to be driving.
Anyway- thanks to everyone for the weekend. Audi for the parts and advice, Jim for his "Car - 60, trailer - 20, tiedowns - 30. HMX - priceless"., Chuck for the food- EXCELLENT!
And it was great to see Ernie, Kim & Scott, Steve and our surprise K11 veteran Gwen.
It was an unexpected alteration in my schedule but very glad I made the effort after the driveshaft disaster.
BTW, I will be posting in the tech section with pictures and a descriptive autopsy when I dive into the swingarm and final drive. Stay tuned but view it on an empty stomach- you may want to divert your eyes.
Seriously folks- that was fun. Thanks.
See you (too) soon- the year in between goes WAY too fast.
John
oops- just remembered to thank Steve for Friday breakfast (excellent!) and Shogs for the Saturday breakfast prep. _________________ John & Cathy

Home about 4, already unloaded and stowed away. Blocked the Calendar for HM XI already. Headed South weather was sunny the whole way, warmed up to the 70's.
As always good to see everyone for some "campfire therapy".
Can't wait for next year. _________________ 2014 R1200RT Water Cooled

Well, one mental note of advice for next year, don't think about a hotel near Louisville Ky the 1st weekend of May......you would think that after 10 years I would remember that the Kentucky Derby runs on that Saturday.....
Indianapolis still made for a good 1/2 way point for us. Had rain on/off thru middle Ky then it was all clear...... Today was sunshine and 60 deg.
Home by 4, today.......
Yes, thanks to Chuck for the evening meals, Steve for Friday catered breakfast, Gwen for Saturday morning breakfast.... All good as intended. So looking forward to next year again. _________________ Ride safe.

Home safe.
Arrived at 1600 having taken lots of old roads here.
I had to deal with some issues with my son, and after unpacking and ordering a pizza I feel asleep.
Sorry for the late Chechen in.
I had a wonderful time and it was so good to see all of you again!
I was sorry to hear about Sean's crash.
Later,

Hey "good morning" HM-Hungry Mothers..!
Wanna thank everyone for the great fellowship, and Jim for somehow managing this whole annual meet, thanks to Chuck for a truly super super personal culinary effort appreciated by all, buddy Steve for the catered breakfast, and our "veteran" Gwen (aka Schogii ) for Saturday's Bkfst as well as for having to endure me on a ride over thru Coal Country as seen through the eyes of a 12 year old. AND I ALSO WANT to reflect and thank our departed friend Phil for having been with us in spirit, and for having watched over the safety of us all as we returned to our respective homes.... At the same time however, I also want to flip a finger to Mother Nature for having provided the coldest/wettest/greyest HM weather in the last decade.
On Sunday, I managed to to make it the entire 18 grueling miles all the way over to the "fun and sun" capitol of extreme south-west Virginia, SALTVILLE,! Once up onto I-81 I passed a parked VA-State Trooper who proceeded to follow me all the way to the McD in Chillhowie ( exit 44 to exit 32) where he was headed anyway. I asked him shyly what our speed was and he (very friendly) said 68 mph.. My speedo needle however over those few interstate miles never got over 45/50 ish, so I guess at needle-speed 70/75 I must really be booming, eh Schogii?? Anyway, weather has cleared after our departure from HMSP-X and the sunny cloudless day on Sunday was in the low 70-s.. Here in Saltville, the raw excitement has just begun.!
Thanks again you Hungry-Mothers... Hope to see you all again safely next Spring.!

Good morning Hungry Mothers...
Glad to read that every made it home OK, and yesterday I finally made it home to NH myself, on one of the most brutally hot riding days I've experienced in the last few years. With the wicked hot asphalt and equally sweltering hot wind up sweep, I had to ditch and secure all my safety apparel save helmet, boots, gloves and jeans... Didn't get any relief from either heat or traffic until I got into Vermont and the higher altitudes... Found the Homestead, and dogs all happy to see me return, especially in one piece..! Thanks again to all of you for making HM-X a very special event, despite the unusually shitty weather.
For those that don't know... Our V-Strom buddy Stoked Steve will be celebrating his/their 25th wedding anniversary (about now), and I (we) want to wish him and family the very best as always.. I can also assure him that the next 25 will fly by, so enjoy each and every day together...
Best wishes all... Ride Safe... / Ernie in NH (most of the time) _________________ AMA,, American Deaf Bikers

Thanks for the good anniversary wishes Ernie!
You really had some rough weather coming and going!
Not only that milestone, 25 years married, but I also turn the big 5-0 tomorrow, the 24th.
So this year May has had some big milestones indeed.
For my B-Day tomorrow, I have scheduled the day off and after some morning rounds, I plan on a long and unhurried motorcycle ride to wherever the heck I wander off to until whenever the heck I return... _________________ Steve

Just wondering - is that referring to the first, or second, 25 years of his life
But seriously, congrats from someone who has enjoyed 20 more years of wedded bliss. _________________ David, owner of:
