anyone know if the gear position indicator switch is the same on all K bikes? i have a 96 k11 and there is a gear position indicator switch on ebay from an 86 k100

If you have access to the OEM parts list, have a look at the two bikes and compare the part numbers

Same part. However, chances are that one from an 86 is going to be dry and brittle and may not last too long so inspect well it before installing it or you'll be back at it in a month. The GPI switches have a pretty hard life given where they mount.

That said, I just looked up the current dealer price of $120 Shocked

so can see why you'd prefer used.
