Just completed a 4400 mile swing out west to attend subject rally. Raced up Pikes Peak behind fast moving RV's, ran down to Durango and up eastern Utah. Blew through Chief Joseph and Dead Indian Pass a couple of times and then to Red Lodge from Cooke City. That's right, infamous Bear Tooth Pass. Not a first for me, but first time at 41 degrees and strong, gusty winds at the top. Need more than mesh gear.
K1100 runs so smoothly and comfortably at large speeds it's unbelievable. Did have a pesky cooling problem. Radiator cap loose, then small hole in the overflow tube. Fixed that easily but then popped a small hole in the left radiator hose. Some Gorilla Tape with a hose clamp around it got me home. Fuel mileage 43 overall, ranged from 31 to 51. Will post some pictures when I get time. _________________ '93 K1100LT

Nice trip Bob.
Next year meets in the Buffalo, N.Y. area. Might have to try a national rally- never have- and this one is a reasonable distance. _________________ John & Cathy

I have been to two Nationals. Burlington, VT and Johnson City, TN. Great time at each. I was with a bunch of friends and met a bunch more. _________________ 1997 K1100LT

Sounds like a great ride.
Beartooth can get pretty dang cold up near the top in the wrong weather. Been there, done that. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
