Busy at the office? Please! It's tax season, and last Weds the DOL decided that the government needs to be involved in how we save for retirement. It's been nuts.

Not bad enough to keep me from going to London for a week, and then a week long cruise last week.

Weather has been nuts, had a freeze warning last night with he Masters in town, I didn't think the tournament committee would let it happen. Last few days have been windy so the at least the pollen is gone.

The bike is almost ready, did a 30 mile shake down last Saturday after I put all of the bodywork back on. Ran great with he new injectors. I just got all of the badges in the mail and installed except the battery covers, still looking there.

Weather in Marion is still just above freezing at night, highs in the mid to upper 60's. Sounds like we need to bring winter clothes.

I'm hoping all this recent cool/cold weather is the last gasp of winter and we'll move back towards more spring like temps by HM.

At least this past winter was pretty mild, so hopefully the roads didn't get quite as beat up as the last two years.

Starting to get so worked up I can't sleep.

First road trip of the year & all.

So much to do, so much to talk about.

I MAY be on a different bike this year. But you will have to show up to see.

Miss you all. Very Happy

Yeah - I'm looking forward to HMSP, too. I haven't even put 100 miles on the RT since I picked it up last October. Looking forward to a decent local trip...

I will definitely be on a different bike this year. The K is still in the shop - covered with dust and cobwebs - wires and bits and pieces dangling every where - looking quite sad, actually... It'll be back together sometime this summer, I imagine.

Today, I scored the most incredible deal on a single bike trailer. It uses a boat winch to lower itself so you don't need a ramp, andI can load the bike by myself.

You are going to want to take pictures and measure it, You could prob have it made for a few hundred.

It's going to be worth coming to HM just to see it!

Something like this?

On one of my several road strandings of the K, I happened to be stuck in front of this nice gentleman's house who offered to trailer my bike home. He has a big Harley and uses this to take it to rallies and such.

Way cool, the floor drops flat to the ground and then you just roll up on it and then winch the deck back up to the frame. I've wanted one ever since...

Close, will post pics, it's tube and square without a flat floor. Yes, the rail lowers and the tongue goes up so you can roll the bike on with no ramp. As an engineer it's an amazing deal. Someone spent a lot of time on the design.

The one in Steve's pic is a Razor trailer. http://www.razortrailers.com/

The first one I bought was stolen. When I bought that one from Gary, they were not DOT Approved - and on sale for $700.00. Drove to Georgia and brought it home. That trailer was stolen from in front of my house in August of '06. The replacement trailer is DOT Approved - and cost $2,400 in '07. The new trailer does have 13" wheels instead of 12", LED lighting, and a Condor wheel chock instead of a channel.

Guess we'll see Chuck's trailer soon. Not that I'm going to build one...

Similar to those but it doesn't have a floor, just a rail, so you can see the u shaped axle. It uses a hand winch and strap that lets it fold. It's pretty light, about half the weight of my utility trailer I used last year. It has 12 inch tires that are older but in ok shape. I checked and adjusted the bearings tonight and will install bearing buddies so I can keep them greased.

Ok so the trailer has cleaned, greased and adjusted bearings now. They were loose enough that the wheels could be wobbled when jacked up. Bearings looked ok, and once adjusted spin with no noise. I will drag it to Augusta and back in the morning to see if they heat up, to get the grease to work in. I also put bearing buddies on it and packed them full. Added new tires on new wheels, so I can get a spare mount and have a spare tire. If you have one you'll never need one...

On other notes I hadn't planned to make any chili or pulled pork this year, but a client just gave me 30 pounds of ground venison. So, if you guys wish I'll do a couple of gallons of chili to bring to lunch on. I brought back spice packs from Italy to make spaghetti sauce, and was planning on bear can burgers stuffed with something. I can sauté onions and garlic plus the spice pack for the sauce, just need sausage from the store.

So, you folks want venison chili?

Judy and I are terrorizing the Tail of the Dragon this weekend in the Twin Turbo ZX. Weather is perfect, hopefully it will continue through end of month. Can't wait.

Looks like the weather gods have not been appeased just yet... We'll have to offer up more sacrifices... Anyone got a goat, chicken or other livestock they don't really need?

I ran over a chipmunk a couple weeks ago, does that count?

Hey Jim, the start of HM is 10 days from now. ANYTHING can happen (weather-wise) between now and then.

Keep the good weather thoughts!!

The weather up there looks pretty good to me, 70's all week into next week, even some 80's.
