Im just in the process of reassembling after a complete teardown. The frame is still off being painted but in the mean time I thought I would start to reconnect some of the wiring. What I've just noticed is that one of the pins on the motronic unit looks to be missing and I cant find a diagram showing what it does. It looks very slightly corroded so I don't think its snapped recently. I'm just hoping its something redundant like the ABS as I've removed it. Does anyone have a picture of the pins and their functions? I could only find K100 pics. I believe its pin 32 that's missing.

thanks
Deush

**edit - I've just seen this one on fleabay and it has the same pin missing. Coincidence? I've seen other pics of the same model (1464710) and it has the pin. Cat v non Cat maybe?

I can make up a listing when I get home from work later today, but at just a quick glance at my schematics, pin 32 is designated for a hall sensor connection.

By judging the picture in the link it looks to me that it's pin #15 that is missing.
That is unswitched power input, which I would guess is for memory only.

As you can see some corrosion at the remains of the pin it seems like moisture have been present.
On a contact where you also have constant power present, the corrosion process will speed up considerably.

BTW. The unit in the link is for a non cat model.

yeah I'm sure its exactly the same with the same numbers...I think we only have non cat models in Aus.
Is it just a coincidence its the same pin do you think?

No, as constant power is present on this pin I don't think it's just a coincidence.

Here's what I was able to decipher from schematics..

1: switched ground for fuel pump relay(motronic completes the ground path for the fp relay coil)
2: switched ground for fan relay
3: diagnostic plug term #1 and inst cluster term #10(temp indicator light)
6: hall sensor
7: water temp sensor
8: throttle position sensor pin #3
9: throttle position sensor pin #1
12: throttle position sensor pin #2 and CO potentiometer pin #3
13: frame ground
14: ground input from (CO pot term #1, water temp sensor, air temp sensor)
15: power input from fuse #5(constant un-switched)
19: inst cluster term #16(tach) and switched ground ign coil #1
20: switched ground ign coil #2
21: frame ground
22: frame ground
23: hall sensor
24: input air temp sensor
26: frame ground
27: switched ground for fuel injectors
28: CO potentiometer pin #2
29: diagnostic plug term #3
30: input from O-2 sensor
31: throttle position sensor pin #4
32: hall sensor
33: switched power(also fuse #5 but switched)

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the pinout information. Was that from your 95 or 97 bike?

Does anyone know if they would apply to a 94 machine?

Regarding the pinout, it's similar from 07/93 (-94 year model) to 04/99.

If are fluent with German or a translator...........

Here's a web site with very good information. I think this man knows a lot when it comes to K-bikes....

This will take you to his schematics page for the 1100.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the reminder of that site, I have used it in the past, but not recently. Time to get the translator out.

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Good morning all….

Regarding " K-Technik"… the link which Scott provided and the parallel links on the K-Technik web site are the Bible for K Bike Owners and Mechanics.. If you cannot read German or know the German terms, there is no shortage of people here or other web resources that will help you find (translate) exactly what you want. Don't be shy !

Best regards an good luck….// Ernie in NH
