I think there are also a couple parking spaces down from the drive toward the lake - by the sharp turn. _________________ Jim

Good morning all..
WOW…. just a month to go and we'll be BS-ing it up at HMSP !! Hard to believe though. as I look out the window and see it snowing as hard as it has all winter, and I haven't even attacked the mountain of hardened snow and ice that block the entrance to my barn wherein "MY BABY" and 4 others have been in hibernation since the first week in November.. Gotta have at least one warm day to change the fluids an filters,, check tires and take a chilly test ride..HOPE ITS SOON !!
Two questions… 1).. Has anybody seen Ted and is he coming this year ?
2).. We gonna do 'grab bag' with rider stuff ??
OK! 3 questions!
3).. Will we have Tech Session and on what ??
comment:
Wouldn't we LOVE to have Inge and a couple of Brits plus KiWis
there this year ??
Best regards all.. ride safe...// "Anxious" Ernie in snowy NH _________________ AMA,, American Deaf Bikers

I'm planning to ride up, but trying to see clients on the way up and back so may wind up with the bike on a trailer just to be able to haul everything.
I'm bringing the Hexcode GS-911 I just bought in case anyone wants to play with it. It reads any 2.1 or newer ECU and ABS 2. It's kinda neat and should read any BMW with the three pin diagnostic port.
I bought a carb stick to synchronize the throttle bodies but havent had time yet. Not sure if I'll get mine done before since I HAVE to spend a week on a Disney Cruise and a few days in Orlando. Oh AND it's tax season too.
Also plan to bring my mitivac, I don't think my rear brakes are perfect after the MC rebuild. They work, but seem like there is more travel before the brake catches. I want to check out other people's rear brakes, since mine leaked before the rebuild and not sure what normal is.
I'd also like help to check the drive shaft, don't think it's ever been off the bike.
As mentioned before, making a pot of venison chili to bring, and picked up a 12b boston butt to smoke and bring for pulled pork. I also have some venison breakfast sausage if anyine thinks I should bring it. _________________ 2014 R1200RT Water Cooled

OK folks, I want some of what Audi is using
4 WEEKS to go!
But first- next Friday I'm off to California to ride with our daughter Jen and her fiancé.
Did this last year and found OTG too. Rode a K1600GT. Nice bike.
This trip it is a 2015 R1200RTW. _________________ John & Cathy

What's the riding weather like in NC in May? Textile 3/4 jacket/pants or could I go with mesh pants?
John, you going to be anywhere near me during your trip to see Jenn? _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

Dave,
Weather at HM? My recollection is not too hot, not too cold. Probably like Modesto in January (I think?)
But I have only been to III, IV, V and VII.
What have you HM veterans experienced?
*********Thread hijack**********
Here's our trip-
4/10 Friday afternoon: SF to Monterey (air bnb house rented)
Saturday: Monterey, PCH to Lucia, Nacimiento-Fergusson Road (WOW!) Bradley then over to Woodlake (another air bnb)
Sunday: Into Sequoia NP, Generals Highway, Kings Canyon dead end- just got deleted- not open until late April, Squaw Valley, Trimmer and ending up in Merced Marriott
Monday: Heading north and west, twisty back roads west of you, going up and over past the Lick Observatory (we did that after leaving you last year) and back to Jen's apt. Flying out late Monday. _________________ John & Cathy

Last year it was B E A utfiul the whole time, after Wednesday, rained hard that night.
On my ride home last year it went from low 80's to 42 and rainy 100 miles from home on a 930 mile day. Heavy winds too!
No sub freezing weather though.
Take the mesh pants and as long as you can wear jeans under them you should be fine. If you are still cold, then you could put on some rain over pants. Too hot, then just wear LDC shorts under the mesh.
I have learned from the past, the weather can really swing wildly in the spring, so I pack it all if I can. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

The weather up there can certainly go both ways. But I'd plan on the cooler, especially as we are having the gathering earlier in the year these days.
I'm a bit of cold weather wimp, which is partly why I live here where it only gets but so cold.
Expect 50-60's during the day, maybe a few 70's and usually upper 40's at night. It takes awhile to warm up in the mountains and seems to cool off more quickly.
One year I did mesh gear only (with rain liners) and I was hating it on the 52 degree rainy ride back to the lodge one day. I err on the warmer side of things in the mountains.
You can always check the forecast a few days prior to get a general idea of the trend.
Nervously looking forward to meeting you OTG... _________________ Steve

Well you will be this year's "traveled the furthest" award for HM VIII.

This is a VERY URGENT MESSAGE!
I have a friend that will make us some ADV-like patches.
Top line - K11OG
Middle line - Hungry Mother
Bottom line - "your name"
I need to know just one thing STAT.
What do you each want in the "your name"
I'm going with Shoganai.
So as quickly as you can, I need to know what you want such as your screen name, real name or whatever. _________________ 1993 K1100RS aka The Shop Whore
