Yeah, the Monday thing was a guesstamite anyway. Whenever you're going back, we are too.
Might take you up on it, although an LT would be perfect.
If anyone has an LT I could steal for the weekend, I'd be more than happy to toss some $$ your way. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

John will be meeting us in NY and we will be driving down with him on Wed, the 29th and back (I believe) on Monday the 4th.
Still need to get a bike. I'm 6'3" 290, and Carolyn is 5'11 150 so I'm thinking a full tourer or similar. I'd love to get a GT like John had with his CA trip or maybe an RT or similar. Shit, I'll ride a Harley bagger if need be.
So yeah, when I say I'm going in '15, it means I'm going.

Bike.
Done.
I can trailer down and bring both my new Ninja and takes-a-licking-and-keeps-on-ticking Blue Streak.
Say the word.

I have the bike below, and I can not get to HM due to the timing. I am not sure how good it would be for two for that distance, the saddle is a bit sloping to the rear. Take a look if you would like to use it we can make arrangements, I am in Central PA, most likely on the way from NY to VA.

You guys are amazing. Really. I've never had so much sexy German babes thrown at me at once.
Much as I would absolutely love to take a very sexy and sporty RS, my concern is the height and combined weight of myself and my girl. My girl is 5'11", and as said our combined weight is around 440lbs.
We're both Vikings.
So I'm not sure if an RS would be suitable for 2-up.
Now were I going solo, a hearty "fk yeah" would be heard.
Not to sound ungrateful by any means, folks. Just thinking about the comfort of my pilon.

Our Corbin Dual Tour seat is really comfy for two up- Cathy loves it. It has two individual rearend "pockets" that keeps the passenger from inching forward when you hit bumps. Plus the Corbin backrest.
Hey if jo and mo can be comfortable on an RS.........
I can even locate a set of bar backs/risers.
The rear shock is set for 2-up and has lots more preload available. _________________ John & Cathy

OTG, Im 6-7 230 and Leslie is 5-11 155. We have done much two up on both K11RS and K100RS...
They defininatly are not Full Dresser's but, we easly do 300 miles a day on them. The only thing that will be an issue, will be the baggage. the side bags are not enough for two up for more than a few days. So, a large tank bag or/and tail trunk would be essential. |

The bags on mine have "City" tops so they are not as roomy as the standard bags. Usually I do not go two up so I put my bag on the pillion, I am not sure how big of a bag you can fit on the back of an RS. _________________ 1997 K1100LT

John,
All the riding at HM is day trips. At the most a jacket liner or two will be in the side cases.

We are driving down to HM with my K100 (for OTG and S.O.) and my son's Duc 800ss (for me) on the truck and/or trailer. _________________ John & Cathy

If it had been almost anybody BUT you, I would have said something, however, I know you, so no worries.

I would love to come some year. The timing is just really bad. Right before State mandated Tests that students need to graduate I can not take a couple of days to have a nice ride. Sure I could burn down 81 the whole way and be there in 6 hours, but that is just no fun. If it was a few weeks later I would be all over it. I just can not do it at that time. _________________ 1997 K1100LT

+1 to John Claus. I too am in the same situation.
Would love to join you guys for HM but that time of year is always busy with international business travel which I have no means of altering. Perhaps next year, I can request it as a vacation....if the better half agrees. _________________ 1995 K1100RS in Palmetto Green

The reason for timing is to get off season rates and avoid Mother's Day, graduation, Memorial Day, birthdays, etc... _________________ Jim
