I have had to replace the rear caliper on my 1996 K1100RS ( fitted with ABS II). The ABS sensor on my own caliper was damaged trying to extract it. so I have fitted the replacement caliper complete with it's sensor, however it is a different version to what I had as the inner cable is screened with copper, where as mine had two plain wires. I have tried connecting these into my wiring harness but am not sure which should be connected to the positive feed. I have been unable to get the ABS reset despite several attempts and the recorded fault read out is the one for rear sensor.
Does anyone know if the sensors are interchangeable ? and if they are which wire I should connect to the Positive wire in the harness? and is there a way of testing that the sensor itself is ok?
Thanks

Welcome Richard!
Have you checked the sensor gap....should be 0,60-0,65 mm.
Or it could be that you got a sensor from -97 on, then it's 0,45-0,55mm.
Early sensors the wire comes out in center, on the later version the wire comes out at the side
(it have a kind of rubber cap in the wire end).
Could also be that you got a ABS I sensor...don't know if it's a differen't
gap (but it is a different part number).

Early sensors are coax where ground is usually the outer shielding (goes to brown on a K). _________________ 93 LT (x2)
