OK folks. Sometimes I have to take off my moderator's hat and show you the funnies.
www.hotbikeweb.com
Check out the "power tour"
OMG......5 days 900 miles.
At the leisure rider pace that they normally do- they better ride through the night. _________________ John & Cathy

From the listing:
"For those of you that sign up to do the whole ride tip to tail, there will be a special designation for you hard-asses. Riders that complete the entire journey will be nominated as a Longrider that includes special prizes and Longrider-only VIP treatment. If you want to roll with the big dogs, saddle up and hit the highway for the entire way."
180 miles a day will get you Longrider-only VIP treatment. Wheeew! Makes me tired and my butt sore just to think about it. And it's just a sneeze for Gwen.
Each to their own and they're rollin' on two wheels so they got that goin' for 'em.
Sent this to a friend thanks for the chuckle. _________________ Rand

Can say that at about 500 miles i'm ready to get off the bike, at 600 for sure, in a day. Some places a 180 miles won't even get to the next sizable town in the west...for many HD's its mostly about the look, on the bike(or off), in a bar parking lot. Well, at least some of the chicks are hot...
A buddy rode his custom 'springer' with moderate ape hangers to Sturgis one time, said he'd never do it again--pure misery, fatigue/wind nearly killed him. (500+ miles)
....now they trailer. Guess he's got some sense! _________________ 1997 K1100LT-SE

"Those who ride from the start to the finish are termed "LongRidersTM" and will be held in the highest honor."
And thought riding a stock K11 saddle qualified me as a hard-ass.
The idea that riding 1000 miles in FIVE days is some kind of awesome is hard for me to take seriously, I would go so far as to say ALL of us.

You got to crawl before you can walk.
Besides, when you spend several hours sitting in a bar it's hard to roll up the big miles. _________________ Dave Norris KOG 248

Have you heard about the new endurance test for HDs?
It runs from Minneapolis to St. Paul. _________________ 1967 SEARS (Gilera) 106SS

UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE
This past year they upped the ante. For 2014 those "hard asses" (their words) gutted it out for 1000 miles over 5 days.
Is this even possible? 200 miles per day?? _________________ John & Cathy
