Just bought k1100lt 93....really like it... Strange thing I noticed ...a couple of times while up shifting while slowing down bike will quit until I let out the clutch again and will fire back up...then no problems...it does not ever quit or have any problems. Just seemed to shut off while I have the clutch pulled in after up shifting to slow the bike.?? Is this common?

Welcome to the forum. You have found a good source of knowledge and experience with K-bikes.

Sounds to me like you should start by changing the fuel filter.
Then go thru any service records that may have come with the bike to see what has/hasn't been done to it lately.

Read thru the tech stickies and acquaint yourself with some of the quirks of these fine machines.

Here in the states even the "newest" K1100 is still going to be 16 years old. They will need some service, no question about that. Grease can dry up, seals can leak, rubber hoses can get brittle and crack, etc..... but these are all things that can be fixed/replace and make for a fine running machine.

If they are treated decent they will run a long time.

fyi, if you put your bike model and year in your sig line it's easier for us to help you without you having to spell it out with each question....

Maybe check the adjustment and clean the connections at the throttle position sensor.
Thru 07/'93 and earlier, they had a ignition amplifier that didn't like heat, and if the heat-sink paste dried up it can cause problems. Might be worth a check.
