Hi,
Does anyone have any photos of their 1100RS on detail please?
Ive noticed that the front mudguard fits badly and that a bolt is a few mm away from the tyre. The plastic lugs appear distorted too. Ive looked at real OEM and believe it should have an acorn nut on the outside? Any photos of this area appreciated.
Also, any photos of the brake pipes behind the right hand footpeg hanger on the ABS II system please? It looks like there ought to be a clip or clamp on the pipes but I dont know if one is missing.
Finally, is there supposed to be any grommets or fittings for the side panels on the sides of the fuel tank? The tank has lugs with holes in, but I cant se anything on the side panels to suggest they clip in there. I know at least one of my side panels has abroken lug of some sort.
Thanks for any assistance you can offer. _________________ Phil

Those holes are for tank bag mounting clips. I don't think you will find the lower grommet on your RS. I believe those are just for the larger panels of the LT.

Phil,
Scott helped you with the tank bag mount.
I have ABSI so can't help you there.
But on your front fender mounts the bolt heads should be on the tire side and the acorn nuts should be "outboard" and alongside the reflector.
I'll bet that the previous owner did that so the fender could be mounted after the wheel/tire was bolted in place.
If it is done correctly the fender has to be bolted in place BEFORE the wheel and tire are mounted.

At least have the bolts installed from the inside out before the tire goes on at a minimum.....
On the LT the fender goes on last, as the calipers can't go on till after the wheel is mounted, and the calipers are under the fender.... _________________ Ride safe.

Hex head bolt M6 x 45
If you weren't across the "pond" I could send you a set. I have fitted shorter bolts- I removed the yellow reflectors- don't need them since I do not ride at night. (we have moose around here and they cross roads in the dark!) _________________ John & Cathy

The best I can tell you is that it's an M6, but I can't say how long. I've looked at other listings and they don't show any specs for it either.
You may just have to put a ruler to it and measure. A local hardware store should have something.
It should be a regular type M6 cap screw. _________________ Ride safe.
