Thanks for the clip Shogs!

Those guys have crazy riding/driving skills to do that. I wonder how many tires they burned up making that?

Way back in the day, before the word drifting was a term, I attempted to do a cool sideways "drift" around a corner onto a street that was under construction and covered in gravel in my '69 Toyota Corona. I over revved the downshift to 2nd and spun about 180 degress and then caught traction and proceeded to plow directly into a pile of construction pipes, causing much damage and grief...

It takes a lot of skill to be in control when you're out of control!

Hi, All,
Well, I again feel like s**t. I had chemo today, and I get 2 different chemos. On the first, fourth and seventh weeks, i get 3 different medicines. On the other weeks I just get one medicine, placed into a pump and pumping into me 24hours a day, seven days a week. Today was the "long" day, which always makes me feel like s**t for a week. HOWEVER, the good news is IT IS THE LAST "LONG" DAY! I have 2 more "refill the pump" days and I'm done with chemo. They will then want to do a scan, then a small surgery to remove the mediport which was inserted in July. Then I'll be done and will restart my life again! Thank you all for your support!

This was posted on the LD list by Bill Watt.
Funny and wise at the same time.

Enjoy,
Gwen

If you have two air pressure gauges never test them on the same tire. The
second one will always read 5-7 pounds hight, causing you to buy a third
gauge and "run average pressures."

There is no such thing as too big an air compressor.

Never lend your tools - if you must have a loaner set that shows every
tools so "lost ones" can be paid for.

Mark your "road tools" with a wrap of coloured tape.

Lending a torque wrench is the like sending it on vacation before you put
throw it out.

Always borrow tools from people with whom who share the same
tool philosophy and who have much better tools than you.

Once you buy a good wrench or socket, you will hate everything you ever
bought from Harbour Freight.

In every household there will likely be a tool lover and a tool user "of
massive indifference to quality and order".
The tool lover should give the other "their own tool kit" to keep in the
house in a "place that is handy"

No matter how convenient/reasonable it seems, using "the workbench" to
repot plants is considered a very bad idea by any tool lover.

Gardening tools must be in a different place than internal combustion
engines

The Snap-on truck is not a place most tool junkies can be left unsupervised.

When you buy a good tool because you just can't break another blood vessel
in your hand/shin that knuckle again, because the cheap one slips or is
rounder than the bolt someone used vise grips on, don't through the
offending tool out. Keep a box for the discarded tools - if they can't
upgrade the inside the house non tool lover's tool box, then find a young
personin your neighbourhood who has their first MC and give those tools to
them. They will appreciate it and be around to help you lift things that
are heavy.

For every 5 years you get over age 50 increase the lighting inside your
garage 25%.It will keep you feeling young.

Paint your garage floor so you can find the stuff you will drop.

Do not wash your rags in the home washing machine. A new bag of shop rags
is always a lessor expense than a new washer.

Buy coveralls and don't let your wife secretly sew on a name tag she thinks
is "CUTE" It won't be, trust me.

When removing body panels wrap each bolt/screw in dry wall tape and tape it
to by the hole on the panel it goes back into. In Germany BMW Engineers win
prizes for requiring different length panel screws on every piece of
plastic.

When you need to force something to get it off or make it fit, force
yourself to take a 20 minute break.

No-Mar Tire Changing machines are like the ballet , if you don't use yours
enough you will never to either appreciate or despise it. Every time you
see a No-Mar booth go get a lesson.

Todays drive by...

On a recent visit to my parents home in S.C. my Father, who knows I love and appreciates tools, gave me my Grandfathers machinist’s tools.

I am indeed honored.

I have oiled them and will clean them when I have time.

WOW.

Nice collection of older machinist tools.

Part tool collection/part connection with the past

My father was a machinist foreman at Ford Instrument during WWII since he had a cardiac problem that kept him out of formal military service. I have just a couple of his measuring tools....... Memories............ occasionally I'll pull these out and run my fingers over the worn surfaces, imagining him using them during those urgent times.

Nice tools, Gwen.

On that visit home I took these pics of my parents.

They are each 69yo and more in love today than the day they eloped and got married.

The following was not staged.

Awesome tools! (no I didn't mean the parents although I'm sure they're awesome too!). Can't believe all the manuals etc are still there. That drift looks like it's done a bit of work over the years!

Shogs,
I would highly recommend an electrolysis bath to remove that rust without damage to the metal.
Good write-up here:
http://www.rowand.net/Shop/Tools/Electrolysis.htm
Electrolysis is COOL.

PM me your address and I send ya enough soda-ash to get the job done.
I use it for well water treatment (raise the pH)

That's what I will do.
Several people have suggested it, and the pics are impressive.

No pic today, but I had a good belly laugh when I read this.

Pork Tamale Potpie with Corn Bread Crust

Stuff, chopped onion, chopped green bell pepper, lean ground pig, bacon grease (to make up for the lean piggy), tomato sauce, tomato paste, frozen corn, ground cumin, ground allspice, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, chipotle powder, garlic, salt, pepper, refried beans, Monterey Jack cheese, chopped green chili peppers, cornbread mix, pie shell.

I grind my own meat; this is course ground for better texture.

Melted Habanero cheese for Steve.
