|
Is replacing the rear sensor a simple substitution (1993 LT) ?
Or is there some adjustment/clearance that needs to be set - and is any kind of electronic reset required.
My ABS initialises and seems to work fine - but it has been pointed out to me that the sensor has a hole in it - which is presumably letting rain in and will lead to failure sooner or later.
IF it's a straight swap I'll replace it as a matter of course - if it's a PITA I'll wait until it fails.

There's only a clearance to be set for the sensor, the clearance is stamped near the sensor IIRC. _________________ K1100RS '97

Those sensors can be a real PITA to remove.
Why not just seal the hole with a spot of silicone and save your self some frustration.
Like Drikko said there is a clearance setting, but I myself still haven't figured out how to accurately measure it from the outside of the fd housing.
The setting should be 0.60-0.65mm. _________________ Ride safe.

Thanks guys
I think I'll leave it and apply silicone - good call Scott.
A bit of research shows that there's two types and the changeover point is mid '93 so that's another complication.
