Good morning again...
Just a quickie... Does anyone know the exact size of the two "hex nuts" on the ABS2 unit into which each of the bleeder valves are fitted ??

Hi Inge...
Could be that my sockets are not that accurate, but when I try the 22mm it is just to loose to get a solid grip. First because the clearance "well" around the hex is so close-in (possible interference) and also because the hex-points themselves are rounded down at the top intentionally. The result is that there is very little of the 'hex flat' on which to get a good torque. 21mm almost fits which is why I asked if these could possibly be some sort of 'hybrids'...ie: not quite metric and not quite SAE.. I am going with your "22mm" however, and will grind a relief around the bottom of a six point socket to see if I can get a deeper fit.. Thanks for the 'heads up' !!

Hi No.6...
The "bleeder nipples" are fitted into the 2 hex "nuts" which are actually the upper end ( the ball check end ) of each Hydro-Module piston. The questionable hexes are the dimension I am wondering about, and did not seem to be either 21mm or 22mm, but Inge has confirmed that they are in fact 22mm. Pulling each "piston cap" will allow me to see if the plungers are sticking, thus rendering the ABS2 non-functional.

Usually sockets is rounded to the inner diameter at the end..which makes them easier to enter the hex.
It would be a idea to also grind the end for a better grip...as the actual hex is very narrow, a bit recessed and have rounded corners.

Hi Inge...
That socket looks like its perfect for this task, and it looks like you have done this ( judging by the tool ) since both the end as well and the side-wall appear to be ground! I no longer have my set of precision Stahl-Wille metric sockets ( brought from Germany ) which fit perfectly to every application, instead I have here in the USA the Sears Crafstman sockets which are not so precise and can tear the hex points easily if over torqued. There is a socket manufactured by Met-Wrench that bears on the hex flats but I cannot find any at least here in NH.. Despite that, I am going to do what you have done when I get a new 22mm deep socket.. Thanks again for the "hands on" advice !

OK guys, didn't get it in the first place, sorry Inge, you're right about the 22mm though it seems a bit loose, both with a socket or a wrench...
