I'm posting this for a friend in Tucson, BMW Master Tech Paul Ford:
K100 standard with K1200RS engine
1990 polaris silver K100 standard. K1200RS motor and motronic injection system, K1100 transmission and paralever final drive. Was featured in BMWMOA magazine several years ago (see link below). Looks and handles like a K100, with a "bit" more power. Includes city bags, headlight protector and autocom system. Looks and runs nice, and has been ridden regularly since it's completion in 2007. New Pirelli tires, new battery last year. This bike started is's life as a K100LT, and has a restored salvage title.
See more at <http://www.bmwmoa.org/features/engine_upgrade/BMWMOA_ON_engine_upgrade.pdf>
Price: Asking $3500

hmmm, interesting project, so does that mean a K1200 engine would fit straight into my K1100RS? Would turn it into a rocket ship and at least the brakes would be better than the K100 ones. _________________ K1100RS '97

Read the article at the link I posted. There are lots of bits to mix and match.
The K11 swap may be easier and yes, better brakes would be nice.
