Bike was found. It was dumped in a ditch about a 1/2 mile from my house. My guess is that it was some "kids" that pushed the bike down the street. They ripped out my ignition trying to hot wire it. Dash is broken, mirror is knocked off, small dent in tank and scuffs on side fairing.
I want it to go to the Dealer so they can have a good look at it.

If they would have got it running I bet they would have crashed it, too bad they couldn't.

I had my Laverda 750 stolen about 30 years ago, what they didn't realise was the back brake didn't work and the front brake master cylinder had a fast leak which I hadn't repaired. So whilst joyriding around the mountain he suddenly ran out of brakes crashing over the side into the bush. No damage to the bike at all but he broke his leg so the cops got him. They were really appreciative as the prick had stolen about 100 cars and bikes and they couldn't catch him, couldn't get away this time.

The nice men in blue actually had the police tow truck retrieve it and bring it back to my place which I though was really nice, they also casually suggested that having brakes would be a really really good idea Smile

Sounds like you got away reasonably well this time pinchflat, and perhaps you should change the first half of your forum name?

The GPS tracker I have on my K1100LT can be wired to shut off ignition and fuel. And I can do it remotely while the bike is moving. I gotta get the little plug that has the wiring for that. Smile

It was a common term for theft - years ago... Drikko is showing his age. Laughing

Isn't that sure to result in a crash??? Although anyone who steals a bike should feel some immediate pain...

I have to admit, I have not crashed the few times I've run out of gas.

I did come a lot closer to dying on a very busy 4 lane section of interstate with traffic moving at 70 - 75 miles an hour when the engine suddenly cut off.

I have no qualms giving that experience to anyone who steals my bike, especially at much higher Autobahn speeds.
