Left 97 on center stand today with cover on with temp
around 100 degress. Came home in evenin to find 6 inch
diameter wet spot under the weep hole at front of oil pan.
It feels like coolant?? Just had service done 3 days ago and
rode 200 miles to scrub in new tires. No leaks or problems till
bike left standin...I read a thread on this, but can't find it now.

Inge===Thanks for excellent info and pics...how long do you
think I can ride it before total failure. It just started and seems
to only weep in extreme heat...over 90, while parked. I dont think
I can tear it down myself

A question I don`t have definitive the answer to...next week..next month...next year?
For peace of mind, I would have done it at soonest possible oppotunity.
The big leak usually starts when it`s at the most inconvenient moment....just ask Murphy.

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy !!

Good morning Steve....

Re: "" I dont think I can tear it down myself. ""

Of course you can !! Just look at the link Inge sent you, review your tool collection, get the proper seal from either Max Motorcycles or your local BMW dealer, and dive in. PLUS every member of this forum is here to help whenever you have a question or uncertainty. Owning a "K" or and old "R" or in fact any motorcycle is to take on its upkeep yourself, unless you are prepared to pay ridiculous dealer repair costs ! So when you're ready, give it a go !

Good luck....// Ernie in NH
