I dropped the K1100rs last night when the starter jammed on,
the mirror popped off, and for the life of me I can't get it back on
any info appreciated

Hold the mirror so the each clips is located at the related pins on the fairing.
Give the outside end of the mirror a good whack with your palm.
In my opinion it functions best in this order : rear top, rear bottom, front.

thanks for this, I realize that the plate is bent at the bottom peg ...
