|
|
We are all in the lodge this year - a smaller group than in recent years - there are 12 attending.
The event will start Wednesday. At this point, it looks like most people are coming in Wednesday. I hope everyone has a safe ride! If I get time, I will send a text with everyone's cell numbers Tuesday.
Critical information will be kept in this top post - check here for the latest info - the date in the subject line will update when I update the post.
The Lodge is booked for Wednesday, May 1st through Sunday, May 5th, 2013.
Google map
Hungry Mother website
Marion weather
"Hungry Mother Lodge - Six bedroom lodge (Sleeps 15 maximum - for our purposes, at this point, it sleeps 11). It's a great place for a get-together. (There are no bed rentals for lodge.) This log lodge offers a view of the park. It was originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s.
Six bedrooms: Master bedroom with a double bed, three bedrooms with queen size beds, one with two sets of bunk beds (making four beds), and one bedroom with a single bed and a set of bunk beds (making three beds). There are three baths total - one in the master bedroom, and two hall baths for the other 5 rooms.
Sleeps 15. Allows 15; no cots for rent.
Kitchen: Refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, coffeemaker, dishes, dishcloth, a few dish towels, silverware, cooking utensils, pots and pans, microwave oven, toaster, clock radios. Also includes rustic furniture and linens (one set per person). Lodge is climate controlled (heat and AC). Bring food, dish detergent, extra dish towels, coffee filters, coffee, salt and pepper, nonstick cooking spray, extra bath towels, bodywash/soap, board games or cards.
Porch, large deck and picnic shelter, washer and dryer, gas grill, gas fireplace"
As before, I am not guaranteeing lodging. Those who are planning to attend need to pm or email (preferred) me - I'll get back to you with payment information.
The Lodge is $43.00 per night for a room with a queen bed, $21.00 per night for a bunk. The master bedroom and rooms with a queen bed are taken. The Lodge is full - at this point.

Good morning Jim....
See you got back OK... no problems?? Just a quick question, can any of the money I sent to attend this year ( couldnt make it to HMSP-V due to an unexpected cash shortage as you know ), be applied to HMSP-VI ??
Also a great suggestion to extend by an extra day. Is it possible ??
Hope to see you then if not sooner.....// Ernie in NH _________________ AMA,, American Deaf Bikers

Ernie - yes, general consensus seems to be to arrive Wednesday. I would guess that's probably about the maximum amount of time the group could spend together without someone getting hurt...

|
|
I can reserve the Lodge this Tuesday 6/5.
I will initially reserve it for Wednesday 5/1/13 through Sunday 5/5/13 - a four night stay. The cost of lodging for Wednesday night will be split among those who are actually there for the extra night. The Lodge rents for $320.00 per night with fee and tax. If there are not enough people in for Wednesday night to make it work financially for attendees, I have two weeks to change the reservation.
As soon as the reservation is made, all important information concerning the event will be updated in the top post. _________________ Jim

Jim,
I am in also. But being a longer event, it probably will be just me. So a bunk is fine.
Thanks for all the work.

OK - I'm back. Work has finally slowed down a bit. Thank goodness.
I'll run some numbers and contact those who have responded by email.
If you're planning to show at HMSP VI, let me know - email is best. The Lodge bunks go pretty fast. _________________ Jim
