Still looking for a trailer hitch for '95 K1100RS and have only found them for the LT. Are they the same? Any suggestions where to get one? Thanks

If it is from a k11 it is the same. It mounts under the bike under the center stand. I have a copy of the mounting instructions I belive. I also have one on my k11lt

I looked for a long time for a hitch for my 96 RS. One of the manufacturers, I have forgotten which one, told me an LT hitch would not fit an RS.

When I inquired as to the reason it would not fit, the response was a less than clear. It has been so long ago, but it seems it was an Australian company that told me that.

I have considered getting the LT and giving it a go. I am capable of some metal work, built metal trailers and work benches so a hitch is within my capability. It became a matter of time and energy.

Maybe someday!

I have two K1100's with Reynolds Trailer hitches (both different) The 95 K1100LT has the one that bolts up under the tranny (to the centerstand as I recall) very nice setup. The one that I have on my 93 K1100RS mounts to the side of the transmission as the did on all K100 & K75 bikes. Mine came off a 93 K1100LT. So some of the early K1100's did not have the rubber mounted foot peg setup. To solve this I found a 1991 or 1992 right footpeg mount that also serves as the saddlebag mount (no rubber mounts). The footpeg mounts are getting pretty scarce (the usually break if the bike falls over. At any rate the Reynolds hitches are nice because they are single sided (right side) so you can get the rear wheel out without having to take hitch off. also the have 4 relays in hidden inside the tube so the trailer wiring is isolated from the bike and uses less power. One of the relays in one of my hitches was burned out, I looked all over on the net for the righ replacement relay (size matters) with no luck. Out of desperation I went to the local Radio Shack store and unbeliveably they had two of the exact replacement relays for $3.99 ea. Bought both works great. Hope this helps.
