Full credit goes to Rydor (Sean) for this, I just stole it...

Steve and Sean,
Is the red K bike in your picture the one that Phil had his deer crash with?

After Shogs completed her latest crazy 3,500+ mile coast-to-coast IBA ride across the northern US, last Monday she & I took a ride out to Neah Bay, WA (one of the "four corners" of the US) and Gwen scattered some of Phil's ashes into The Pacific Ocean:

Good evening John...
I just saw the picture of Phil that you posted, the one from Sean..
... really gives a guy time to pause and reflect on just how great our loss as K-bike riders and just plain friends of Phil have come to accept. Seldom do I look on a freshly served up bowl of steaming spaghetti with sauce without smiling and quietly remembering the countless hours in Phil's company and of our times together in VA.
Thanks for putting that pic up, and many many thanks to Gwen also for her thoughtful remembrance on the shores of the Pacific..
Best regards as always....ride safe wherever you are...// Ernie in NH _________________ AMA,, American Deaf Bikers

Thanks for those pics Duck.
That is indeed an "amazing ride" as Marian requested, and a fitting way to remember Phil... _________________ Steve

Thanks Duck for the bump and the post.
As I posted on fb, I was so glad Drake was there for both Phil and myself. It was harder than I thought and I was a little tearful when I got back to shore.
I've been carrying them waiting for the right time and place.
That was it right there.
I feel we did right by our friend.
I scooped up some sand on the shore there in the empty vial to bring back to H.M. this year to spread by the campfire and thus closing the great loop.
His voice was so unique I can still it in my head to this day. _________________ 1993 K1100RS aka The Shop Whore

Thanks Gwen, I couldn't have said it any better myself.
I've had Phil "ride" with me since Marian's visit at HM, I was in Yellostone last year and shared the beauty of it with him. He still rides with me to this day, though not as much of him.... _________________ Ride safe.

I just wanted to add to this thread i never met Phil but he did ask me to say hello to an old friend of his which was Paddy in Maddocks motorcycles in Bray Co. Dublin i have never had a reason to go to that shop before but I had said when I was talking to Phil online before he died that I would pass on his hello to Paddy, I know it took me a while but I did follow through as bikers do. I bought a pair of tyres for my latest project a 1966 Bridgestone 175 Dualtwin. Paddy said he had not seen Phil for 25 years but remembered him fondly as a genuinely big man in size and character what more can you say its good to see someone leaving his impression on this world
Kind regards
Bill
