I've never seen a thread here on anything past doing a valve shim adjustment. These motors don't seem to need work beyond that!!

What's wrong with the head gasket?

Or what makes you think there may be something wrong with the head gasket? Coolant in oil or oil in coolant is most often a problem with the oil/water pump.

I have milky oil but a mate had a look and just thinks its condensation, I'm going to put some new oil in first as I'm not sure how old the oil is in there at the moment.

At the moment the bike is doing two 30 minute trips every 12 hours every day so it could just be condensation Wink

I'd suspect you need an awful lot of condensation to make 3+ litres of oil look milky Smile

This suggests to me that you should look at an oil/water pump problem.

I had my head gasket off before an it is a stout piece of material. I would venture else where before you go there. I too thought I had a head gasket problem also but it was not. I can't remember what I found but it wasn't the gasket. Wouldn't a compression test show a leaky head gasket? Just thinking "out loud"...Smile

It's probably condensation. I do about the same commute - two 20 minute trips twice a day, year in, year out. Every winter, it condenses up and gets milky under the oil filler cap. Every summer it gets hot enough to dry out, so no milk.
