Donna & I wanted to do an over-nighter, but the weather will be bad tomorrow, so just a quick trip out to Rachel, NV. for lunch.
The route
Waited for it to warm up a little, traffic had mostly cleared out - north on I - 15
North on Hwy 93
A whole lot of "nothing"
Stopped in Alamo, NV. for a quick cup
North on Hwy 375
Over the Hancock summit - 5500 feet
Long stretches of nothing - not even an E.T.
At last, Rachel, NV. comes into view
The Little A'Le'Inn...had to get the required photo
Notice the "Self Park" sign
Beam me up Scotty !
A couple of items of interest
E Clampus Victus - those boys get around
Wow, even the E.T.'s are wanting something for nothing
Donna had the "alien" burger, I had bacon & eggs - no pics though. A weather front was getting close, the wind began to pick up, Rachel was supposed to get snow - so we ate and left.
Donna waits for a ride
Where's all the moon maidens??
The leaves were really blowing around, we jumped up to Hiko, NV. which was only 5 miles from the junction, wanted to see the "ghost" town part of it, but nothing to see but one set of ruins from an old stone structure from the road...not worth the 10 minutes it took to ride up there.
Almost to I - 15 from Hwy 93 south bound
We did beat the rush hour traffic
I did get to try out my "free" Garmin 1300, I'll post a review shortly. Total 330 miles. We got home just in time - the wind is howling out there right now _________________ Steven B

A couple of your pictures reminds me of a beautiful Nevada morning in 2007 when we went for breakfast, 140 miles and 90 minutes later. _________________ '93 K1100LT

Wow. a whole lotta flat and straight, and I thought we had it boring here in the coastal plains of the East Coast.
I guess the mountains are where it's at....
Thanks for the pics. _________________ Steve

The Pics of the Little Alien reminded me of several years ago my wife and I stayed in one of the trailers out back. While we were gazing out the window the waitress came out to the dumpster to throw away some beer bottles. But before she threw the bottles away she checked each one to see if there was anything in them, and sure enough some still had some beer in them, she just chugged the remains right down several times. Later that eveinng she served us dinner ad then got dressed up as an alien complete with a baby. Very entertaining. _________________ Jim Benge, San Diego, CA.
