Guess that makes Desmo parts a pretty good deal - for the rest of us...

I just got the kit from Desmo off eBay. Very impressed, clearly labeled and bagged with a sheet explaining which bag has which parts, and when you need to reuse the cup washers and such. Price was $44.95 plus $8 for shipping. I'm in the planning stage to remove all of the body work for paint, will post some pictures when I get a chance.

Hey Jim,

That's your bike on the Desmoparts site! I have visited the site several times but never realized that the LT was yours.

Not a comment about stainless, but my KLT is exactly the same colour scheme as yours, only the 2nd I have seen. One thing I think that BMW managed to get right!

One thing Desmo doesn't do (as far as I know) is rotor bolts and peg plate bolts so you'd need to sort that out for yourself.

I do understand why from a potential liability perpsective though.

Last time I talked with Chris, he was getting all his stainless from Italy. He wasn't comfortable using the grade of stainless he was getting for rotors and peg plates. Harder stainless is available from UK vendors.

Given their diameter, I don't think there is much risk on the peg plate bolts.

When I did my front rotors I did go for the higher grade SS on my bikes.

If memory serves, JO and Micki got some OEM front rotor bolts to start to warp/shear.

I've also looked into getting some titanium front rotor bolts but it is pretty expensive - about $8 each.

Well then, you have a very good looking bike, Sir.

Certainly my favourite colour combination. I've only seen a couple others.
