Jim, can I borrow your great looking trailer for the weekend? I'm off to the hill country camping this weekend and I need to haul a couple more kitchen sinks.
Nice looking set up; and by the way, your photo posting worked.

Very Happy

OK, come on down, although it is supposed to rain the next couple of days. Here is a pic of the bike and trailer before I added the ice chest and kickstand to the trailer, Was taken leaving the National at Bloomsburg PA

Nice shot there Jim. What other shots that would be great to see is of your trailer hitch and how it bolts to the bike.
If you have those shots, it would be good to see sometime.

The kickstand foot cracks me up. Where'd you get that?

Please tell me you don't actually use a safety chain. I can't imagine anything more disastrous than having the trailer come loose and take the bike down...

If one of my trailers ever came loose from the hitch (virtually impossible), I'd want the trailer to get as far away from the bike as fast as possible.

I connect the safety chain to the hitch with a black zip tie - looks like the safety chain is attached - the zip tie makes a good "safety link".

Hi Jim (me too)

The kickstand is actually a kickstand off an old K100 (Modified of course) I cut it off just below thbe springs where the stand is bent, I added a straight piece of pipe, cut the top off and welded it to a piece of channel iron that is the bottom support for my ice chest. The foot is a copy of the old dimmer foot they used back in the 70's. I went out on ebay, found one and downloaded the picture made it a little bigger, printed it off and glued it to a piece of 3/16" plate steel, cut it out filled the foot smooth and welded it to the kickstand, rattle can paint job as seen in the picture below. These are the things you do when you are retarded like I am. Keeps you busy and out of the bars.

This is a Picture of the Trailer Hitch setup I use. It's a REYNOLDS Hitch, made in Utah (No longer made) but you can find them opccasionally. The nice thing about them is they are single sided so you can get the tire off without removing the hitch. Addionally they have a 5 pin electrical connector in the end of the large tube and 4 isolation relays inside the tube (all hidden). The large tube on this bike (K1100RS) connects to the sideplate on the side of the transmission. I have one on my K1100LT as well but it connects on the bottom of the transmission (a little better setup. Note the stainless steel piece of the platform, thats where I hook-up the safety chains. I went thru a bunch of trouble getting the chain setup right so the hitch will not touch the rear tire if the hitch ever came off. Hopefully that will never happen. I have pulled this trailer all the way across the US three times and up and down the west coast several times without a problem. Works great, but does bouce a bit.

Awesome work on the kickstand.

Very nice rig, you don't see too many RS's pulling trailers.

(oh, and I'd say you've passed your picture posting test!)

Hi Rafal:
The shock is a Works Performance Shock made here in Calafornia USA. Cost is about $450 - $500 I believe. Nice shock and can be adjusted very easily. Here is the link to the shock & Company that makes them

RAFAL:

This is a better link: Look at the single shock version with the ARS feature (Adjustable by hand) I think the price is more like $600 now also
