|
Just received the newest issue of Rider magazine (fluff mag- won't re-up the subscription)
BUT- they had a very brief "tire buyers guide" which showed that Michelin is introducing a Pilot Road 3
Looks like they made it better in the wet- more siping on the front tire. Michelin indicates that they incorporated "MotoGP rain tire technology" . Plus the rear is slightly harder for better wear.
Want to put new shoes on the new-to-me K100RS. Guess this may be the ticket. _________________ John & Cathy

Well, Bob-
I may be getting a pair soon and mounting them on the new black powder-coated wheels I bought last fall- but unless global warming REALLY hits us soon, my riding season is about 2 months off (2+ feet of snow here )
Can ya' wait?

I'm at the point to start looking, I'll have to check those out. Any chance of a matched size for the stock LT rims? _________________ Ride safe.

They don't offer them in a 140/80x18 size, so no rear for the LT. _________________ M N B

They didn't on the PR2 either. It's a great reason to go with an RS rear wheel. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Scott,
Unsure about the LT applications. What width sizes? 120x18F, 150x17R?
Competition Accessories is showing various sizes on their site.

Funny thing John, I was just on that site looking. The closest is 150/70-17, I don't think that would fit very well. _________________ Ride safe.

Jim,
Will 150/70-17 fit?
It is 10mm wider, or a .2" increase on each side.

I'm thinking that the 10mm wider might be an issue with the swing arm clearance. It's pretty close now as it is. _________________ Ride safe.

Dr. Malacarne put a 150 on his LT - said it was OK. If people are putting the wider RS wheel on a 150 should work... _________________ Jim

No way. I run a PR2 160/60-18 RS rear on my LT. No clearance issues. Same final drive and swing arm as an RS. (except for the gear ratio of course ) _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Anyone found a place that has both front and rear in stock for an RS?
A trusted place, of course... _________________ Bob T.

Yes, but they aren't listing the PR3 yet..
Neither is http://www.americanmototire.com/catalog/
And http://www.swmototires.com/ has only the front listed...
Guess I might have to make some calls...might just not be on the web sites yet... _________________ Bob T.

Been running the 150/70ZR-17 on a stock LT rim. Fit is not an issue. On my second set.
