Could someone post some pictures of the actual grips included in the OEM retrofit kit, as well as answer a couple of questions? (Part#: 61312316479)
I'm really not leaning towards them due to a combination of the price, the low power setting issues, and the fact that the diagram shows a grip that appears be better suited for my grandma's walker. None the less, my inner OCD purist demands that I at least get more info before writing them off the to do list.
Is it possible to change grips when using them? If so, has anyone had issues with them being damaged in doing so?
Any pictures or feedback on them would be appreciated.

OK...let me ask a more basic version of the question. Is it a hassle to change the actual grips to aftermarket ones when using OEM heated grips on a K1100RS? _________________ Niemand

Niemand,
Sorry no one has replied.
But the '92K100RS replacement for my departed '93K1100RS had burned wires (with a poor attempt at a tape fix) to the OEM heated grips.
Removed all of it back to the switch and added an aftermarket, under the grip heaters. Then added a set of much better grips over the heaters and installed the wires along the original route.
Looks/functions like OEM.
Good luck.

There's a lot of good info in the Tech Stickies section if you haven't found it yet. _________________ Jim

I appreciate getting a response, but I think you have missed my point to a degree. I have done reading a'plenty on a variety of aftermarket options, and will likely go that route. I simply wanted more info on the OEM spendy bits scenario so I can finally rule them out and disengage that lil' cog in my brain that is always grinding away trying to justify them.
I'll just let it go...I hope. Damn cogs.
**Update: Finally found some pictures on K-Bikes.com and ADV regarding grip change/removal with the OEM heater, and it looks too frah-gee-lay for my piece of mind. (Must be Italian.) Annoying spendy-bit cog vaporized.** _________________ Niemand
