Could someone tell me if my seat has been lowered ? At 6'2" I'm finding it a bit cramped

By comparison to my stock seat, I would say that a significant amount of foam has been removed. _________________ Lee Richter

Hi Dibdob69,
You are not far from me, and are welcome to come over and have a look at my bike seat.
There is also a guy in Coventry who recovers (and I think remodels) seats. There are a few others in the Uk that will customise your seat and fit gel pads if required.

Got hold of a lovely tall seat The chap i bought it of wasn't sure it was for the K1100lt but the base and fittings looked the same as the one fitted to my bike so i got it.
But it was to short when i fitted it, by about 4cm Dam shame as it is really comfortable. Can anyone tell me what bike its for ?

Looks like a K100 one to me, never seen a strap on a K11 seat. _________________ Regards Tim,

I don't suppose some friendly persuasion with a heat gun would cure that gap? _________________ Steve

Do be careful though, it was partly meant in jest. But, if some gentle heat were applied to the underside (not the seat cover!) maybe you could slightly bend it forward.
Good luck and don't blame me if it melts! _________________ Steve

Yeah, that's probably a k100 seat.
Scary, with the heat gun. If you try it, you might consider removing the rivets from underneath the affected area, then reinstall rivets. That might really help just as long so you don't bend the pan too much so as the cause the cover to be fitted cosmetically enough.
On another less risky note, try a shortened sheep skin and let it cover the gap.

Do like me...when it's parked outside in rain, just tuck over a hefty bag around it. When you're riding, well...you do have rain gear to wear? You could too just take the thing off.
I've had one on my /7 for a few years. No problems. When in rain while I'm riding, I never notice it except for the added comfort (rain gear on).
The sheep skin just stays on my bike all the time. With a bit of clean up, it still looks new, even after about 35k of sitting on the thing.
Think I bought it at the local BMW dealer...50 bucks. They're cheaper on line. Or, you could make it yourself...just a chunk of sheepskin with a couple of straps sewn on to attach it.

Another little thought here.....buy another seat, but make sure it's in the year spread that will work on your bike. Use what you have now and be careful with it. When you buy a correct seat, sell this one to get your money back.
Ta-da!....you'll have a proper fit, then you can chase the sun down the lonely backroads without getting your gonads in a bind.
I've had great luck with Ebay here in the U.S.
When I bought my KRS, it had a nice looking but terribly stiff Corbin seat. I lucked out on Ebay and bought a stock seat, near new, for $50 bucks. It fits and looks great.
Sometimes things just fall in place, sometimes it takes a little time to fall in place.

Awesome, that looks factory! I meant using the heat gun as a joke, but I'm glad it worked out. Now your pillion will have an extra panic grab! _________________ Steve
