Hi,
I am new to all of this and am slowly figuring some of it out; but, I just got back from my first BMW International Rally and thought I would make a few comments. I had a good time for the short time that I was there. There were hundreds of venders; thousands of BMW's of all models, ages, and configurations; and even more people! Some were even K11OG members; I know because I asked a gent who was busy working on his '94 K1100 LT, and he said that he was a member (so there were at least two of us) and wondered why we didn't have a gathering there. I know that I would benefit greatly from just talking with some of you more experienced rider/owners of K-bikes.
If there was a negitive to the Rally it was the HEAT; why in the world would you schedule it in JULY!!!?

Hi "martdnc"....

WELCOME on board, just in case we haven't welcomed you before ! Please complete your 'sig line' with details ( location ) (year and model of "K") (etc) so if/when you do have bike questions we can address them more concisely, and even if your dont have a specific bike question just 'jump in' whenever and wherever you want. Also, note that we have been meeting at the Hungry Mother State Park in Marion VA every May for the past 4 years and this coming May 2012 will be no exception, but make your reservations NOW ! ( see the sticky in the Meetings section ) I think you would enjoy that, and certainly learn from talking with all the other members. Mark your calendar for the first weekend in May 2012.
