Have tried different kinds with varying results (did start to leak again after some time),
the best result I got so far is with Permatex blue RTV (no leak).

Hi Simon...
I use Yamabond found at any yamaha dealer. Put in on in a very think skin layer otherwise you'll 'gunk up' the little channel at the upper right on the engine side. I know the product is NOT BMW but its available nearly everywhere as is the PemaTex 'blue' that Inge recommended.
Good luck.......// Ernie in NH _________________ AMA,, American Deaf Bikers

Hi Simon...
If you have the BMW service manual, refer to Section 11, pg. 29/30 for installation and torques. Remember that engine face as well as the back side of the pump casting are very very soft, so any ding can lead to a leak...plus the "bolts" can be easily stripped if the torques are exceeded..
Have fun...........// Ernie in NH _________________ AMA,, American Deaf Bikers

I'd imagine you can get Loctite Blue Maxx which is just the bee's knees. A light coating and finger tighten the bolts until the mating faces touch, leave for about 15 minutes to nearly set, then do the final tighten. _________________ David, owner of:

And the 'official' stuff is easily obtainable from the usual suspects in the UK (Moto-Bins, Motorworks and James Sherlock). _________________ Cheers, Rene

The BMW tri-bond has worked well for five years so far. whatever it has to be thin, but most of both surface must be really clean.
Cheers

Last message was messy!
The sealant has to be thin and easy flowing.
Most important of all both surfaces must be really clean.
