I don't think my K1100LT is cooling as well as it should. Also I've detected a drop of coolant at the weep hole from time to time. My question is, can the waterpump be changed out as a unit? What does a new one cost? Any special tools needed? Thanks in advance for any and all info. _________________ Lifes too short to ride an ugly Motorcycle |

$413. OUCH!
No special tools needed- but after you loosen and remove the bolts around the pump perimeter and pull off the cover, there are two more bolts inside the pump that need to be backed out.
When you go to install the new one, watch the amount of sealant you use (there isn't a gasket). There is a very small passageway that tends to get blocked if too much sealant is applied.
Check out this thread before you install.. http://k11og.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8395&highlight=water+pump
Good luck.
