If it's fully loaded then it's about £2500 more than the official UK dealer price.
Still a hell of a lot of money though. It is said that test rides are available in the UK but there is a £2500 insurance excess if you suffer any damage. _________________ Fat Ba***d with a K1100LTse

Mate of mine had a GTL for an afternoon.....it was the normal £500 excess for him. _________________ 1980 CB900FA

About $9000US more than dealers are selling them for here.
But I guess if you REALLY want one........
BTW, today Cathy and I saw a 2012 Goldwing- it looks better in person than in the mags.
We rode over to White Horse Gear's (North Conway, NH) open house. Free barbecue and 10% off everything. They probably had 200+ bikes stop by over the entire day and it was a wet ride there and back. Good time and had a local R1100S owner go with us. _________________ John & Cathy

I paid $26,000 cash or my K1600. When the final drive failed 3 days after I picked it up, the dealer happily bought it back and said he could sell it for $35,000. He had not sent in the paperwork yet so a sorry soul is going to get what they think is a demo unit with a new final drive for $35,000. _________________ Communique via Garmin ZUMO 665 via HTC DROID Incredible ADR6300 via The Spoken Word Talk to Text |

I test sat on one last week at Ride West BMW in Seattle. They'd just gotten their demo bikes and were not allowing demo rides yet. It felt very smooth and yummy though.
I'm down in CA right now but when I get home I plan to take the K16 for a demo ride and finally take a spin on the S1000RR as well.
According to the dealer sales mgr who sold me the K1 in April BMW had cut off pre-orders on the K16 because they'd had so many that they couldn't deliver until more than a year after the order. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

SugarHill:
Where is there any "fleecing" involved? The most basic rule of econ is that the value of something is what a willing buyer will pay for it and what a willing seller will sell if for. It really is as simple as that.
From earlier posts you've made I gather you're not a fan of anybody making a profit for their efforts but I'd be willing to bet that your IRA/401k/retirement investments are not wrapped up in nonprofit organizations, now are they? _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Just my own opinion- no one else-
Always rubbed me wrong when a dealer or others inflate msrp due to scarcity. Yeah, I understand profit as a sole proprietor.
But I do not charge extra to see someone on a Saturday or Sunday.
Once again- my opinion only. _________________ John & Cathy

The seller in this case made an investment ($$$) in a pre-order and assumed some risk - delay/cancellation of production or perhaps that the bike would end up being a dog. (Can you say final drive failure?)
A potential buyer might be willing to pay a premium to get the bike sooner rather than later. What business is it of yours when they're spending their own money, not yours?
And what is so sacred about MSRP? It is, to a large extent, an arbitrary number that a manufacturer sets based upon their perception of supply and demand. As a sole proprietor I'm sure you understand that.
If you're concerned about getting fleeced out of your own money then I'd recommend concentrating your focus here:
and here:
and here:
And I'll ask one more time. What "fleecing" is involved in that eBay listing? The seller seems to be very upfront and honest from what I can tell. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Some people confidently flap their lips until challenged. Some people spread partial and complete untruths. Some people cant ride or debate. Some people are simply pathetic narcissists. And some people are all the above. _________________ Communique via Garmin ZUMO 665 via HTC DROID Incredible ADR6300 via The Spoken Word Talk to Text |
