(There seems to be some difficulity with Drake being able to log in here, so he asked me to post this on his behalf)

Despite the tone of my departure I bear no ill-towards K11OG nor any of it's members - OK, maybe that f-stick from France. LOL.

I just kind of burned out on posting here and decided to take some time off. Then while out riding with JO we discovered that we both had an interest in a K bike forum that was more bike-related and less campfirish. You'll see that reflected in the structure of our new forum. Not that there's anything wrong with how K11OG is structured. It simply a matter of personal preference. That and the fact that the forum software we selected (SMF) seems to be a little more feature rich and allows stuff like posting videos that play in the thread.

FOTG: The intent of our building a new forum has nothing to do with splintering. It's just that Johnny and I had a common vision of what we thought we'd like to see in a K bike forum. There's plenty of K bike sites out there already. Ours is just one more to choose from.

Hungry Dungee is still on and any and all K11OGers are more than welcome to attend. Like I said, I bear no ill will towards K11OG. I'll even keep wearing my t-shirts.

And for those of you who can't make the official dates of Hungry Dungee feel free to drop me a line if you're going to be in my neck of the woods. I'm always looking for any reason to go up to the cabin and would be happy to host you. Even FOTG and his mail-order bride.

Finally, Ted, my hat is off to you for starting and continuing to host K11OG. Before I got my LT I spent most of my time in that hideously formatted kbmw that Curry insists on keeping in the last century. It was a relief to find this place. You even kept it going when you took your extended (and unstandably so) sabbatical from riding. It's great to see you riding again.

I know I contributed a lot here but I also learned a lot here as well.

I've ridden with a fair number of you, talked to you on the phone and emailed with many of you. It's all good.

Cheers,
Flying Duck

Me personally.....

The Drake is a straight shooter no nonsense kinda guy. Can have fun, will have fun, but likes a direct answer to a direct question.

This is especially true when it's something along the lines of a topic which could affect life & limb.

We all need a break from time to time.

Good on him for feeling a need, then seeing a dream, and reaching for that.

I also gotts ta say, that in some 30+ years of MC'ing I have NEVER been a big club joining kinda guy. But this site has some of the best advice & people on it ever. I know that after being to Virginia last weekend.

The not able to log in thing was my fault, I apologize. I de-modded Drake because it is a huge security hole if he does not plan on logging in much, I will re-mod him in a second when he unburns out Smile Anyway, when I did the unmod it changed his status and required me to re-activate (as anyone knows who has changed an e-mail address - stoopid PHPBB) and I didn't know I had to do that. I do now and he is all ready to go.

I miss the guy, I miss his input here and I hope he looks at this place like I looked at riding a few years back - a little bit more every time Smile

Duck, you're input on this forum has been invaluable and has allowed me to enjoy this machine tremendously more than I ever could have without it.

Best of luck in future endeavors, and keep helping folks keep these classic K's on the road!

Ditto what Duck said. I've been over there trying to help (limited expertise and general savvy) with the new site and haven't posted here much as a result. But I was still reading this site everyday keeping up with what you guys and gals are doing.
I was really missing jo's posts and now after dealing with him pretty much on a daily basis I really don't know what I was thinking. Very Happy Ditto Duck, only worse.
Anyway, come over and check us out if you have time for 2 sites. Shogs I know is toooo busy for us but we take pretty much everybody as long as you ride a Klassic K.

Can't say I agree with you FD, I like the campfire side of this forum most of all, just talking techy gets boring and by the look of it starts arguments....

Laughing Howdy Drake

I have been over to the new site and it is looking good.

It is motobrick.com and covers all Klassic bricks from K100 grandaddy to the K1100.

But for now motobrick.com leaves off lil grandaughter K12rs which is as much a Klassic K as any of the other Klassic Ks.. Wink .... well jus a few lil mods....... that were needed Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I could see it coming with you Dr Duck and I am glad you are doing what's best for you.

All good to you and JO and I am glad you two are together, I will be lurking and sucking up your valuable K knowedge and adapting it to lil grandaughter.

Personally I LOVE the techy stuff and find it EXCELLENT reading.

All the very best from half cloudy half sunny downunder oz Wink

You just proved my point. It's merely a matter of personal preference.

Thanks, gang.
