Hi,

The rear brake reservoir on my bike broke because it got brittle over time and my 3 year old son smashed it with his foot while playing around the bike. As part of the repair, I'm relocating the fluid reservoir for my rear brake to underneath the battery cover and need new hosing to join the reservoir to the master cylinder. Since there is no pressure in this part of the system, normal hose should work.

I've been reading that special Tygon 2075 hose is required to make this connection but I'm having a ***** of a time trying to find this stuff in any of the cycle shops in this part of the world. I visited Napa and CTC and reps at both places said 6mm (1/4") fuel injection hose made of neoprene will function just fine. The brake fluid will not attack the neoprene. But the issue according to other web sources is NOT that the brake fluid destroys the integrity of the hose. Rather, the issue is that fuel injection hose will "sweat" and allow water into the brake fluid.

Can anyone clear up this conflicting advice? Does fuel injection hose work in this application or do I need the Tygon stuff? If I do NEED the Tygon hose, where in the GTA can I buy this stuff?

TIA

FWIW Goodrich & other Stainless braided lines have nylon hose inside. FFS how much water will it sweat in 2 years anyway? SWMBO's car has plaggy tubing (about a yard) between reservoir & master Cyl.
