Hi All,

I am a member of a few forums. I don't post often, true to say mainly when I need help.

My K1100LTIC seems to have a pronounced flat spot between 3k and 4k revs. This is accompanied by a loud induction roar, I have had previous Ks which sound nowhere near as loud.

It starts and ticks over fine, runs great up to 3k, and pulls like an express train from 4k on. I have changed the air filter and checked that the air box is O.K. and had the throttle bodies checked for balance by a local independant who also plugged it into a diagnostic which showed no problems.

Fuel consumtion seems normal, about 18 litres per 200 miles.

My 40 mile commute has me spending most of the journey between 3k and 4k, to the point where this is getting irritating. Any ideas???

When you say 'flat spot' what does that mean?

Change in power?
Change in Revs?
Decreased power?
Decreased acceleration?

Hi Shoganai,

At about 3k, the induction roar, or a kind of resonating sound starts and the bike feels to be down on power. I would not call it significant, but definately a drop off which slows accelaration.

At 4k, it really takes off. Other Ks I have had have all been smooth through the rev range.
