G'day from the List's latest newbie in Melbourne.

I've just bought a '92 K1100LT - my 5th K Series Beemer. I have been a pretty solid BMW rider, but abandoned Teutonic efficiency last year for English hooliganism when I bought a Triumph Street Triple 675. As nice as the 'Triple is, it's not really a great two-up bike.

The plan this year is to do a two week road trip on the LT through central Australia, ending up on the coast in Queensland. Some minor work has fixed the ABS (fully functional now), but otherwise the bike is stock standard with panniers and top box.

Just coming into winter here (nothing like North America or Europe), and I plan to commute on the LT a couple of times a week to keep everything on the bike running, and to contribute to the List.

Unfortunately not now, after the 'event' on Sunday I've been ordered off the turps till they work out what really happened!!! Bad timing with the Ruptured Budgie coming up!!

Welcome to the site Stuart, if you need somewhere to camp in Brisbane don't hesitate to contact Andrew.....Smile

Only joking, if you need somewhere to crash don't hesitate.

Cheers

Yeah, I don't snore (& fart) as bad as Drikko! I could hear him from 30 metres away at Eastern Creek.

I suggest you get a new rear shock before departing on an extended trip. I also have a set of Racetech fork springs for sale to suit the K11 if you are interested.

cheers,

Pegasus

WELCOME Stuart... Wink

Even though most of the Folk are crazy here, they sure know their K bikes, inside and out.

Beneath the joking exterior is a treasure-trove and wealth of knowledge and experience on motorbikes, especially the renown K11OO.

Nice to see a bit of Aussie bush in your pic, even if it is from down south mallee scrub Very Happy

All the very best and don't hesitate to ask n share.

Pics are always but always good, 'without pics, it didn't happen'.... I still haven't posted one pic and don't even have a camera 'cept on my fone Rolling Eyes

You're in good company here Mate Laughing

Thanks to Y'all for your help and encouragement Wink
