Hi all,
Engaging 1st and then letting out the clutch I get a mettalic rattle when I pull away.

Its seems to come from low down at the front of the engine externally?

Dont happen all the time and or it maybe me I'm being too gentle with the clutch????

(Should I be more firm with her and the bike Rolling Eyes )

It seems that being a little more postive with acceleration the rattle does not happen?

Or am I going bonkers and turning into a namby pamby tart?

Knockwurst,

It is helpful to us if you put the year and model of your brick in your signature.

'94 and after bike? Might be hearing the ABS system.

Let us know what you ride by filling out your profile.

John

I've always thought that I occasionally hear ABS noise even after the first initialization sound. Not every pull-away but some...

I have occasionally heard what sounded like loose exhaust rattle. When I did the teardown on the '95 last winter I found that I had 2 of the exhaust header pipes cracked at the collector.
Not saying that was where the noise was coming from, but I havent' heard it anymore since I put on the Remus system.

I haven't had the '97 out yet this year to remember is make the noise or not.

YMMV
