| Yesterday I saw a motorcycle on the street with the headlight off. Thought it was unusual, I could see who owned it. Had their number on my cell phone. Took a chance and called to see if they knew. A few minutes later I got a thank you call in return. It was the Glen Carbon IL Police. |

I have my 81 R100RS set up with run dark option.
I can kill just the headlight, or all the lights, or just the brake light.
At times, when I'm out & about, I pick up a tail gating squid or cager in a sports car.
If I'm in the right place / places, I start running a little hotter into the corners. They usually keep on comin, so then I set up and in between the next set, I turn off the brake light. Fun to watch for certain.
I kill the head light whe starting it up as it's a higher compression than stock and she needs the juice. I was only pulled over once when i forgot to turn it back on. I just pretended it was burnt out and I did not noitice it and went in a few days later to show it was fixed.
I don't do this anymore on the mean streets, times change. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

I've put "Euro" headlight switches on all of my bikes. Mostly so I don't blind the ferry workers at night. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I love the euro switch. If for no reason other than it is different (I don't know anyone else w/o a k that has a similar feature). _________________ (formerly) 1993 k1100rs |

| No arrest. I was in A3TDI. Didn't have any red or blue lights on roof In right lane of a 5 lane with posted 45 mph speed limit rolling through an intersection Southbound at speed with a green light. He was stopped at a red light pointed west. The dark headlight between the red and blue was easy to spot at a glance. Give bikes a glance. Couldn't have phoned if on bike. Blue tooth cage none on bike. When I got the thank you call I asked if this would get me any slack for anything. The response was a chuckle. I doubt if he really needed the headlight for visibility, but my thought is he will be safer with it lit. I wish everyone well who isn't trying to do me in. |

Not sure if it is still the norm here...but the California Highway Patrol bikes did NOT have their headlights auto-on all the time. So if ya saw a bike in the mirrors with no light,,,chances are it was CHP....so slow down. _________________ Mike Gullery

Hi, All,
My K75RTP has the Euro switch, though it's been disabled. When the cop stuff was put on, they added a rocker switch for the headlight. So I can turn the headlight on/off, just not with the Euro switch. When I quit the Procrastinators Club, I'll probably put the Euro switch on the K75 and the USA switch on the RTP. If the Euro switch hasn't been damaged, I should be able to turn the headlight on and off on both bikes. Oh, where did I put the "round tuit"? _________________ Ride Safe,

Use your photo editor to flip it around 180 degrees, will work fine then. _________________ K1100RS '97
