Well it has been a while. I never really went away just been busy.

So I am in need of a new fuel pump.

The ones that I see on line seem to have a higher PSI than what is in the repair manual. Will this make a difference. Hoses are all good so I am not worried about that.

Any recommendations where I can get one that will not break the bank?

Thanks

The fuel pressure regulator keeps the right pressure at the fuel rail.

Rich! How are you?

The last 2 fuel pumps I got came from EME - reasonably priced - and probably a lot better than Chineseium...

These pumps look to be exactly like the original stock pumps.

It became known over this side of the water a few years ago that dealerships, principally, BMW (cars) AUDI and Volkswagen, and possibly also Seat, and Skoda, that the fuel pump intended to fit the smaller cars in their range, were to all intents and purposes the same as the one fitted to the K series (from the K100 16 Valve) and R series bikes (from 1994) but cost significantly less that the ones priced from a BMW Motorrad dealer! It seems that those sold under the Bosch name were the ones that were interchangeable. A cost saving here was mentioned to be approaching 25-35%.

I know my K1100LT had a pump change before I bought it, so when I went to change the flexi hoses inside the tank, I took it out and yes it was made by Bosch, but the part number was unlike any BMW one I had seen before so there may be some truth in it. The external dimensions looked to be the same as a standard BMW Bike fuel pump

(I could not confirm with the previous owner where he had bought it from, because he had passed away which is why his bike was up for sale.)

Where do you think the EME ones come from?

Hint: Large nation in Asia.

I've had no issues with AliExpress fuel pumps.

Thanks
I'll take a look at these. I still need to pull out the dead one.

Soaked the fuel pump in B-12 and resurrected it from death. Hopefully the same will be true for the fuel gauge sending unit.
