Hello. I just bought a 1993 K1100RS with 95,000 KM. My first liquid cooled BMW. The 7 others were / are boxer engine styles. The bike was decently serviced by it's previous 3 owners. The ABS has not worked for several years and I plan on removing it. The brake lines replacement is pretty straight forward. What should I know with respect to the brake lights or other electrical issues? Moto-Bins is a good source for the rear master cylinder to caliper line. I can probably have the front lines made locally. Has anyone ever measured the original front rubber brake lines? Thanks all. |

Welcome Brian
Spiegler makes replacement brake line kits for K1100LT's
I'm very happy I did this upgrade a few years back.

I'd just go to https://www.motobins.co.uk/ and get front stainless steel brake lines for a non-ABS K100RS4V. (a.k.a. K100RS 16 Valve) Those will fit perfectly on a 93 K1100RS.
34 32 2 311 134 is the non-ABS line from the front master to the splitter in the fork brace.
Do Canadians have to pay British VAT? US customers don't. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

RS and LT front brake lines are not the same. The fork braces are different and have different brake line connections. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

The ABS system is separate from the brake lighting system. No issues.
You can remove the two blue relays from the relay box.

Our CDN dolar is not doing so good in the USA so Moto-Bins is a good alternate source. No duty or extra taxes to Canada. Thanks Flying Duck on the electrical questions. |

My previous K1100 ABS failed but I didn't remove or replace a great deal apart from the relay and the bulb inside the speedometer housing. The front brake pipes were shot so later I replaced those with similar braided items. The system worked just the same as before. _________________ 1997 K1100LT
